Are you ready to take that Permit Test?  Let's make sure you are prepared so you can avoid any complications when you arrive.  

There are two locations you can take the permit exam.

$10 testing fee                                                                             No Fee for 1st two attempts

 

Class D Knowledge Exam (permit test)

Please bring the following documents with you

  • If you are under the age of 18 at the time of your test and this is your first test, you must bring the blue certificate of enrollment card issued by a driver education program, or you will not be able to take the test.

  • Know your social security number.

  • There is a $10 fee whether you pass or fail.

  • Bring the correct documentation to apply for a permit or license.


  • For a person younger than 18:

    • If the person is applying for a credential, a parent or guardian must accompany the applicant.

    • The parent or guardian must pass the health screening and wear a face mask.

WINONA UPDATED INFORMATION FROM THE TESTING CENTER

The exam station is open Monday-Friday and testing is done from 8am to 3:30pm.  This testing Center DOES require an Appointment.   Use the link below to schedule. 

The License Center issues permits and drivers license’s until 3pm so it would be in their best interest to arrive no later than 2pm to have the permit issued the same day.
