Driving Instructor Position
Driving Instructor (Rochester, MN)

We are looking to add to our team! No experience necessary just a passion for road safety. We provide all the training (paid training) and certification to get your instructor’s license. This is a great position for college students, teachers, or anyone working daytime hours with flexible after-school and weekend hours.

Though many people have concerns about riding with teen driver's, EDI provides the highest level of training, and we have excellent parent involvement in the training process. Meaning, most of our students are scored well during lessons, due to their commitment to learn. We provide safe training vehicles that include a backup camera, passenger brake, and all necessary tools to give our instructors the control they need during the training process. Talk to any instructor with EDI, and they will say they enjoy the work and EDI students are the best to work with.
We are looking for you to commit to 20 hours per week (more if wanted), with much of the work being between 3-8pm (during school year) as well as weekends (hours are flexible on weekends, morning or afternoon and/or choose between working Saturday or Sunday)
Things we look for in our instructors.
1) A good driver who has a good understanding of the rules of the road
2) Patient with good communication skills
3) Be fun and interactive with students
4) Have a good driving record
5) Have held a license for a minimum of 5 years
6) Must have a moderate understanding of computers and Microsoft software.
7) Be open and willing to learn

We are not looking for a short-term employee as the time it takes to obtain your certification is time EDI is investing in you. The position is very independent as you will often not see another instructor or management for days or even weeks. You put in your own schedule and show up in a training car to the lessons. So having good time management is important.
ABOUT US:The Enhanced Driving Institute is SE MN’s Premier Driving School. We provide an elevated level of training to our students in an environment that stimulates learning. Most importantly we make learning fun for our students. Starting pay is $18 - $20 p/hour, (monthly performance bonuses). This work is fun, motivating, and you will have the opportunity to be a positive influence in many students’ lives.
